Technical Architecture Solutions
provides:
TAS provides
professional management services of operating
systems. This service is perfect
for companies that want to manage
their own applications, but not deal
with the ongoing hassle of tuning,
securing and maintaining the operating
system. Our system administration
professional service is available
on a project basis, on-demand need
or as part of our mentoring program.
Our mentoring program involves our team working onsite with your administrators to
document your site environment. We provide recommendations on improvements to your infrastructure;
daily operations and skill set advancement. The mentoring plan can suggest best practices,
reengineering of operations, and TAS onsite training path, to help you achieve higher service levels.
The database server management process
has three stages at TAS: the initial
setup, system audit, recurring and
on demand services.
The Database Setup services
include database consultation, planning,
defining hardware specifications,
best practices for deploying databases,
planning for future scalability,
loading existing configured databases,
testing and tuning the database and
implementing a backup and recovery
plan.
The system audit service is
currently available for SQL Server. We gather information to provide
a detailed report of: how your database
server and databases look now; feedback
on current practices versus industry
practices; and recommendations on
work to be undertaken to optimise
your system's operation and maintain
it at that peak level.
The recurring and on demand
database services include
remote health checks and DBA /
mentoring and training services,
performance tuning, on demand or
back fill DBA resources, capacity
planning and disaster recovery. The remote health
checks look at backup
and database consistency, proactive
administration and security at
regular intervals defined by the
client.
Our DBA/mentoring service is tailored to your specific needs. TAS
can provide an experienced DBA and/or onsite mentoring/training to help your administrators.
Through this engagement, TAS can report and suggest optimisations in your database setup
and design, daily operations, best practices and mentoring plan. The mentoring plan will
help your team achieve higher service levels through knowledge transfer.
Capacity planning is an important
aspect of all IT sites; proper planning
ensures healthy systems that can
grow to meet future needs. While
some view it as an art form, TAS
approaches it using our proven processes.
Our professionals are experienced
with multi vendor hardware and software
environments; specialising
in the quantitative analysis, modeling
and tuning techniques needed to understand
and optimise your infrastructure.
We are also experienced in exercising
the scenarios such as: production
capacity planning; new hardware acquisition;
production performance analysis and
profiling new application performance
characteristics.
TAS can provide you with backfill
resources to cover instances such
as study leave, training, sick leave,
holiday or just busy periods. TAS
will ensure that at least two TAS
resources are knowledgeable of the
site to enable service continuity.
As part of the initial site familiarisation effort, TAS professional staff will gain an
in-depth knowledge of your site architecture,
work practices and to create TAS
internal documentation.
TAS has created the operational best practices based on our extensive experience in
the IT industry. These experiences range from system administration and operations to
design and management of highly available, mission-critical environments. The best practices
cover backup/recovery strategies, server hardware builds, change control, and application
and infrastructure testing and certification, etc.
TAS can review your existing practices
and provide a report on your current
situations with recommendations for
improvement. If required, we can
assist you with the migration to
the new practices and refinement
of these once implemented.
